Developments in community and switching applied sciences have made telecommu- cations structures and companies way more facts in depth. this is saw in lots of telecommunications parts, reminiscent of community administration, carrier mana- ment, and repair provisioning. for instance, within the zone of community administration the complexity of contemporary networks results in quite a lot of information on community topology, con?guration, apparatus settings, and so forth. additionally, switches generate quite a lot of facts on community tra?c, faults, and so forth. within the quarter of provider ma- gement it's the registration of consumers, client contacts, provider utilization (e.g. name aspect documents (CDRs)) that results in huge databases. For cellular companies there's the extra monitoring and tracing of cellular gear. within the zone of carrier provisioning there are the improved prone like for instance UMTS, the subsequent new release of cellular networks, but additionally the deployment of knowledge extensive companies on broadband networks equivalent to video-on-demand, prime quality video conferencing, and e-commerce infrastructures. This leads to very huge databases starting to be at excessive premiums specially in new provider components. the mixing of community regulate, community administration, and community management additionally ends up in a scenario the place database know-how will get into the center of the community (e.g. in architectures like TMN, IN, and TINA).

Lepetit Persistence Service and Query Service Evaluations The performances of the persistence and query services have been evaluated with an extended OO7 benchmark [10]. The performances of ReTINA three tier architecture was also compared to pure O2 DBMS client server architecture, in order to evaluate the overhead brings by the Corba distribution. The persistence service was evaluated with various types of navigation between objects, these navigations being implemented as methods of the objects stored in the database.

This enhancement enables them, for example, to perform some computation at the network element and return only the information that the network manager is interested in thus minimizing the volume of network management traffic. We use the notion of an Auxiliary Network Manager (ANM) to minimize the impact of network elements not enhanced with database technology. For example, NE4 and NE5 are not enhanced with database technology but ANM2 performs the desired functions on behalf of NE4 and NE5. Thus, ANM2 can minimize the volume of traffic between the NM and ANM2.

For a corba server built upon a RDBMS or OODBMS, sub-queries are delegated to the server and sent to the DBMS which evaluates efficiently complex queries on a large amount of data. For a pure corba server in charge of stand alone objects, retrieve is done one object at a time. Of course, the performances are completely different for these different solutions. This CMIS query service is under implementation by University of Versailles on an OrbixWeb platform. 26 Y. Lepetit 5 Conclusions The analyses performed for the TINA Data Management Framework were very useful to understand data distribution issues in telecom networks.
